SWARA THANDAVAM - ONE 2010 FINE ARTS CONTEST
Aahaarya is organizing the first
competition as Swara Thandavam Contest 2010, on Indian classical dace,
music and sanskrit chanting (e.g. Slokas). The event is divided into
three levels ending with a grand finale and awards. Any changes in rules
and requiremen for the contest will be announced prior to each next
level (see attachment). Lunch, Snack and Dinner will be available during
the contest time, with the purchase of coupons.

INDIA DANCE COMPETITION: Held on Dec 5th. at Sri Siva Vishnu Temple, Maryland, and plan to be aired by SONY Entertainment will be announced by IDC. Subha Maruvada was one of the judges for this event.
NRITYA NEERAJANAM This was the very first event sponsored by our organization was very successful, and was well received. We did fulfil the two foundations (National Kidney Foundation of Maryland and TANKER Foundation of Chennai) with our promised donations. This Program, titled “Nritya Neerajanam”, comprised of items in several non-traditional languages in addition to Telugu and Sanskrit, one item each in Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, Manipravalam, Hindi and Bengali. Many of the performers, in addition to Ravi Shankar himself in two of the items, were long-time senior former students of the Kuchipudi Art Academy, Chennai, currently living in several states in the US. The performers included Yamini Saripalli, Bindu Madhavi Gutti, Sangita Rangala, Subha Maruvada, Anuradha Murali, Vanita Sundararaman, Sasikala enumarthi, Hima Bindu Challa, Swati Gundapuneedi, Lakshmi Babu, Jyotsna Potarazu, and Shreya Babu as Krishna.

KUCHIPUDI TO BLIND CHILDREN Aahaarya is glad to announce that Kuchipudi dance classes to blind children has started by us. One of our staff members, Sruthi Lingam is teaching classes. Currently we have 27 students, 17 of them are partially blind and 10 are totally blind. Please witness our presentaion. We are taking steps to provide a Braille printer to the blind school and provide this very soon.
